League of Municipalities conference held in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY - Thousands of local government employees are attending this week's League of Municipalities conference in Atlantic City.

At the conference, one can buy a dump truck or obtain lots of free gifts. There are also rooms that are packed with police chiefs, mayors and school board members debating policy. Many of those at the conference are focusing on sharing services and the new 2-percent tax cap.

According to the league, it has seen a rise in people who head back and forth each day between the convention, instead of spending money on a hotel overnight.

The conference continues Thursday with a look at labor contracts and affordable housing.
