PATERSON - Water issues continue to surface in schools in Paterson, leaving many parents angered that they were not informed sooner.
Parents at Roberto Clemente Elementary School say that water tests had allegedly been done on over 40 schools in Paterson last year, with over a dozen coming back with high levels of lead.
They say officials knew for over a year and that parents and staff were just notified last week.
Earlier this week, district Superintendent Donnie Evans apologized for keeping the information a secret from the public.
Evans says that repairs and replacements have been made, and the subsequent testing has been done to make sure the water is safe.
