Lawmakers back at State House in Trenton

TRENTON - The group referred to as the "do-nothing legislature" by Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J), had plenty on its schedule today.

Republicans got in line behind Christie, who for months has pushed for the issue of passing his property tax "tool kit."

Monday's board had plenty of bipartisan bills, including one sponsored by Assemblyman Ruben Ramos, Jr. that establishes five-year minimum sentences for anyone convicted of killing a police service animal.

Soon, both sides will break for the upcoming election season, at which point nothing would be passed.
