Lawmaker calls for probe into state MVC

OAKLAND - Going to the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) has turned into an all-day event for some drivers, but now a state senator is calling for an investigation into the problem.

State Sen. Robert Gordon (D-Fair Lawn) wants hearings to look into a computer meltdown that brought MVC operations to a statewide standstill on Monday.

Gordon has also sponsored a bill that calls for an evaluation of the state's computer technology system. The hearings he's called for on the MVC's problems are expected to take place in Lodi within the next three weeks.
