Lavalette, parts of Ortley Beach reopened today

ORTLEY BEACH - Property owners from Lavalette began returning to their homes today.

Police allowed residents limited access today, and will offer similar access tomorrow and Friday at 8 a.m. Home and business owners can enter over the Route 37 Bridge with proof of ownership.

Everyone needs to be off the island by 3 p.m.

People were also allowed to re-enter Ortley Beach for the first time since Sandy. Those who live between Route 35 North and Route 35 South from Lavelette to Seaside Heights were granted access today. Different areas will be allowed access over the next five days.
