EDISON - The latest version of New Jersey's adoption-records bill is now on Gov. Chris Christie?s (R-N.J.) desk awaiting his approval. The bill calls for a more open stance on adoption records for adult adoptees. Current legislation makes it difficult for adoptees to access their original birth documents. New Jersey has some of the strictest adoption records in the nation, but after 31 years of debate, a bill has never made it to the governor's desk.The governor has until June 23 to approve the bill.Adoption bill awaits Gov.
