NORTHVALE - Yet another attempted child luring has been reported in Bergen County.

Police in Northvale say three young girls and a young boy were walking along Tappan Road near Birchwood Road yesterday afternoon when they were allegedly approached by a man in a silver four-door car.

The juveniles reported that the suspect lowered the window and asked the children if they wanted a ride. The children, who did not know the man, did not acknowledge him and ran north on Tappan Road, police say.

The suspect, described as a white man with spiked brown or blonde hair, fled south along the roadway.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Northvale Police Department at 201-768-5900. Authorities ask that parents discuss with their kids what to do if encountered by a stranger.

The incident marks the 19th time an attempt has been reported in Bergen County since mid-September.
