LAKE HOPATCONG - Protesters rallied today against a restaurant along Lake Hopatcong for its alleged connection to a heroin drug ring that may involve the restaurant’s co-owner.

John Davieau, a well-known business man and co-owner of the River Styx Grille, was arrested earlier this month as part of an ongoing investigation into a suburban heroin ring. Prosecutors claim Davieau was a key distributor in the operation. They say drugs were sold in the restaurant’s parking lot.

Protesters say they want the River Styx Grille gone from their neighborhood. Davieau’s family says they should not be penalized for actions that have yet to be proven in court.

Reports say Davieau faces 100 counts of drug-related offenses.

He is currently out of jail on $150,000 bond.
