KIYC: Snowplow contractors in Newark still haven't gotten paid

NEWARK - Snowplow operators who worked around the clock clearing the streets of Brick City say they still haven't been paid for their services.

Some of those drivers are getting Kane in Your Corner in their corner.

The drivers at AOL trucking say the city owes them more than $1 million and that they are struggling to make ends meet. The company's owner told Kane in Your Corner he'd like to be able to pay his drivers for their work, but says he can't pay his own bills until the city pays him.

Al Lembo says that after 30 years of clearing the streets of Newark, he has decided to keep his plow off the asphalt until Newark pays up.

Kane in Your Corner has attempted to reach out to the city of Newark to see when their drivers will finally get paid, but so far there has been no answer. The mayor's press secretary says she's looking into it.
