KIYC: Elizabeth Board of Education under investigation

ELIZABETH - The Elizabeth Board of Education is being investigated to determine if school officials pressured employees for political donations in exchange for jobs and promotions.

Elizabeth school officials say they've turned the district around, improving test scores and earning national recognition. However, some that work there say the only thing the district cares about is getting them to make political donations. They say those that don't are punished, and now the Union County prosecutor is investigating.

An attorney representing several district employees says some of his clients have already been interviewed. The school board says the accusations are completely false.
