SOMERVILLE - Ramu Chandra reached out to Kane in Your Corner after he says he paid $4,000 in cash for a room full of furniture from a store called Crazy Deals in Somerville.

Chandra says he was talked into buying it at a cash price because they gave large discounts. The store is now closed, despite the fact that Chandra says the owner promised to reopen March 24. Since then, the furniture store has been slapped with an eviction notice.

Chandra isn't alone in his complaint, as others have reached out to Kane in Your Corner as well. Even though the actual store is gone, the website is still up and running. In order to prevent something like this from happening to you, Kane in Your Corner suggests putting the purchase on a credit card so you can dispute the charges if your order isn't delivered. If a business shuts down while you're still waiting for delivery, you should file a complaint with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs so you can get on a list in case there are any settlements.
