JACKSON - The country's first cobra-themed racing tube slide beared its fangs today at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.

King Cobra begins with a pair of two-person inner tubes sitting side by side atop a 50-foot tower.

The racers then splash down separate figure-eight paths through a series of fog walls, hissing sounds and lighting effects.

At the end of the ride, both tubes drop down a hill at 30 mph then back up a zero gravity wall toward the King Cobra's open mouth with even more water gushing from its fangs.

With similar installations already in place in Turkey and Russia, the uniquely configured thrill ride is the first water slide of its kind in the United States.
