PATERSON - Friends and family gathered in Totowa Thursday to say a final goodbye to the 13-year-old Paterson boy who died as a result of a dog attack.

Kenneth Santillan and a friend were attacked by a dog in Paterson Friday. The friend survived, but Santillan did not.

His body was found on the banks of the Passaic River.

"We just wanted to show our respects to the family," says former Paterson Councilman Ed Cotton. "It was a terrible thing that happened.  We don't know if it could have been prevented.  People are saying the fence should have been higher.  I don't know.  It's just a sad thing."
