Kane In Your Corner: Newark Parking Rules

EDISON - Parking rules on some streets in downtown Newark have changed, but the street signs haven't.

On Halsey Street, the signs say meters are enforced between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., yet the parking rules are enforced until 6 p.m.

Drivers in Newark tell Kane in Your Corner the situation is unfair. Marko Ramirez says he got a ticket that was marked 4:06 p.m. even though the sign he parked under said he needed to fill the meter until 4 p.m.

Kane in Your Corner called the Newark Parking Authority to get more information, and was told that the hours were actually changed last year.

The Parking Authority told Kane in Your Corner that its job is to enforce the law, and it is up to the city to update the sign, something the City of Newark neglected to do.
