ATLANTIC CITY - (AP) - Atlantic City police can continue topatrol casino parking garages.

A judge on Thursday denied Mayor Lorenzo Langford's request touphold his executive order banning the patrols until the courtdecides whether Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel had theauthority to void it.

The prosecutor earlier this month said Deputy Police ChiefErnest Jubilee had authority over the department's day-to-dayoperation.

The Press of Atlantic City reports thejudge found the executive order was an attempt to "micromanage"the police department.

The patrols began after a fatal carjacking in the garage of theTrump Taj Mahal Casino Resort last month. The mayor canceled thepatrols, saying the officers were needed elsewhere in the city. The issue will play out in court at a later date.
