HACKENSACK - A judge has ordered suspended Hackensack Police Chief Ken Zisa to immediately forfeit his position, according to a NorthJersey.com report.

Zisa was convicted two weeks ago of official misconduct and insurance fraud.

Zisa was suspended without pay in 2010 after prosecutors say he removed his girlfriend from the scene of a 2008 accident in which she was suspected of being intoxicated, then filed false information in an insurance claim.

Zisa was police chief for 15 years and was a state assemblyman for eight years. Members of his family held the top elected and appointed positions in Hackensack for decades.
