John Jordan, of Lodi, charged with murder after allegedly killing wife, abducting 2 young sons
LODI - A Lodi man is being charged with murder after prosecutors say he stabbed his estranged wife to death and then abducted their two young boys.
John Jordan is in police custody after being arrested at a relative's home in Greenville, South Carolina. FBI agents had staked out the area in anticipation of Jordan's arrival, officials say.
State police had issued an Amber Alert for Jordan's children, Anthony and Nicholas, on Friday after they went missing from their school. Police in Lodi began searching for the boys, ages 7 and 8, after they say Jordan took them from Wilson Elementary School by telling administrators the boys had a dentist appointment.

The Amber Alert was canceled early Saturday morning.
The boys' mother, identified as Tracey Jordan, was found dead inside her apartment on Garibaldi Avenue.
Family friends say the couple was in the process of filing for divorce and that Jordan had allegedly been abusive toward his wife.
Jordan is awaiting extradition from South Carolina. He expected to go before a judge on Monday.
