HACKENSACK - Authorities say a New Jersey man accused of killing his estranged wife and kidnapping their sons has waived extradition from South Carolina.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office says 47-year-old John Jordan is expected to be returned from Greenville County, South Carolina, sometime next week.

Jordan was arrested at his father's home on Saturday, more than seven hours after his 39-year-old estranged wife, Tracey, was found stabbed to death in her Lodi apartment.

Their sons, 8-year-old Nicholas and 7-year-old Anthony, were placed in protective custody in South Carolina. A family member says their paternal grandfather is expected to bring them to New Jersey for their mother's wake on Wednesday.

Authorities have not yet determined who will get custody of the boys.
