Jewish community center given 2 weeks to avoid foreclosure

OCEAN TOWNSHIP - A popular place for recreation in Monmouth County, a Jewish community center (JCC) in Ocean Township has been given two additional weeks to avoid foreclosure.

The Ruth Hyman Jewish Community Center on Grant Avenue was scheduled for auction this afternoon in Freehold. However, the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office says the bank asked for the sell-off to be postponed.

Members of the JCC hope it's a sign that both parties are negotiating. The next auction date for the JCC has been set for Dec. 5.
