Jets fans face new security policy at MetLife Stadium

EDISON - Fans in attendance at the Jets pre-season home opener Saturday night were subject to the NFL’s new security policies for the 2014 season.

Only clear, vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" were allowed into the stadium.

NFL officials say the new regulations are in place to ensure safety during games throughout the league.

The policy was adopted in the wake of the terror attack at the Boston Marathon where two bombs were detonated inside backpacks.

Purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases and backpack were not permitted.
