Jersey Shore waiter called a hero for saving boy from drowning

POINT PLEASANT BEACH - A waiter at a Jersey Shore town is being called a hero after he leapt into action to save a young boy's life.

Nick Haines, a server a Martell's Tiki Bar, says he saw the 12-year-old struggling in the water. Haines, a former lifeguard from Brick, jumped out of a restaurant window and swam out to get the boy.

The 30-year-old was assisted by a fellow waiter who is also a former lifeguard.

The young boy is expected to fully recover.
