LAKE COMO - The Jersey Shore is getting the brunt of the wild winter weather.

The area had heavy rain and sleet on Wednesday, leaving a layer of ice that now sits under snow.

Road crews all over Monmouth and Ocean Counties are making rounds trying to stay on top of the accumulation.

Roads in the area have been cleared multiple times, but the snow is coming too quickly to make much of a difference.

Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden says residents should stay inside as much as possible to allow road crews to do their work.
