MANASQUAN - Towns along the Jersey Shore are hoping for a final surge in business today as the summer winds down.

Wally Wall, the beach manager of Manasquan, says business was about the same as last year. However, he noted that business was down on Mondays and Fridays because people weren't taking as many three-day weekends.

"People aren't taking that extra day off," says Wall. "I think with the economy the way it is, they're not just cutting out, they're working as hard as they can."
