JERSEY CITY - The community of Moore, Okla. is spending Memorial Day weekend digging through the rubble in the wake of a massive tornado that struck last week, but 14,000 miles away, a small church in Jersey City is doing all it can to help the victims pull through.

The House of the Lord Church is collecting donations and forming prayer circles in support of the victims affected by Monday's EF-5 tornado.

A group of educators from the Jersey Shore is also helping out. The organization called Teacher's Notebook has already raised more than $64,000 for victims of the tornadoes.

The massive Oklahoma tornado damaged an estimated 12,000 homes and killed 24 people.
