JERSEY CITY - Authorities say a teenager fired several shots after a girl refused to give him the password to one of her social media accounts.

No one was shot or injured in the incident, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. Thursday in Jersey City.

Police say the 16-year-old girl and the 17-year-old boy were arguing outside the girl's home when the girl's 35-year-old mother also got involved. When the boy showed them he had a silver handgun, the girl and her mother ran into the house and heard several shots outside before the boy fled the scene.

Officers responding to the scene found some empty shell casings in front of the home.

The boy was charged several hours later with making terroristic threats, aggravated assault and weapons charges.
