Jersey City removing snow mounds

JERSEY CITY - The Jersey City Incinerator Authority and the Department of Public Works say they have started removing snow mounds from the curb lines along the city's main thoroughfares.

Crews are removing snow from Christopher Columbus Drive between Grove Street and the Hudson River, from Garfield Avenue between Merritt Street and Communipaw Avenue and from Broadway between Route 1&9 and West Side Avenue. The snow is being taken to a nearby lot.

"Emergency No Parking" signs have been posted along the routes where snow removal will take place. The city's parking authority says cars that are not moved from the routes will be ticketed and towed.
