JERSEY CITY - This week's blizzard presented obstacles for countless New Jersey residents, but for one Jersey City couple, it provided the details of a birthday story to tell for years.

Daniel Mann was born Monday morning in the front seat of his parents' car during the height of the storm.

"It was coming and I was really trying to do my best to stop everything from happening, but he just wouldn't wait," Joan Pierre-Mann says. "It was time." The Manns were on their way to St. Barnabas Hospital. An hour and a half of shoveling outside their home and numerous road closures along the route to the hospital delayed their trip.

The now family of four was eventually given a police escort to the hospital.

Mother and son are both in good health.
