JCP&L restores power lost in fall snowstorm

EDISON - Jersey Central Power & Light believes it has restored electricity to all its customers more than a week after an October snowstorm disrupted service in New Jersey.

The utility says crews from as far away as Wisconsin and Mississippi finished reconnecting less than 400 remaining homes and businesses by midnight.

However, any JCP&L customers who don't have power should call 888-544-4877. The utility says there may be some scattered outages today.

JCP&L says it was the largest storm restoration effort in the company's history.

More than 300,000 of the utility's 1.1 million customers lost service during the storm. Crews will remain on the job to make permanent any temporary repairs.

The state's two other utilities, PSE&G and Orange and Rockland, said Sunday that all their outages had been resolved.
