Irvington police arrest man wanted for gas station robberies

IRVINGTON - Irvington police say they have arrested a man for a string of gas station robberies in the township.

Police say the man may be responsible for more than a dozen other robberies around northern New Jersey over the last six weeks.

Police had been working on a sketch, and on Thursday arrested Leonard Crosby, 46, as he returned home. Other police departments from Union and Essex counties are working with Irvington police to determine if Crosby committed the other robberies as well.

Crosby has been charged with two robberies so far, but police say they believe charges for more robberies may be forthcoming.
