WOODBRIDGE - (AP) - New Jersey Turnpike officials are stillcounting up the damages from Hurricane Irene.

Officials say $2.3 million in toll revenue was lost from theturnpike and $2 million was lost from the Garden State Parkwaybefore and during the storm.

The Turnpike Authority closed a portion of the parkway andtemporarily suspended tolls at the Driscoll Bridge to ease theevacuation from the Jersey shore.

Executive Director Ronnie Hakim told The Record newspaper thefigures include overtime and the cost of preparations leading up tothe storm. Hakim expects they will likely grow.
