Investigators probe Union Township police-involved shooting

UNION TOWNSHIP - The Union County Prosecutor's Office says that it is investigating a police-involved shooting that occurred on Manor Drive in Union Township.

The prosecutor's office says that the investigation has revealed that a uniformed member of the Union Township Police Department located a stolen car occupied by several suspects while on duty.

The prosecutor says that as the officer attempted to confront the suspects, they began to flee the scene and dragged the officer along the road. In response, the officer fired his weapon, striking one of the suspects.

Both the suspect and the officer were taken to local hospitals and are listed in stable condition.
