PLAINFIELD - A young man was killed and three others were injured when shots rang out in Plainfield last night, and police are trying to track down several suspects.
The Union County Prosecutor's Office says the shooting happened shortly after 9 p.m. in the area of West Third Street and Monroe Avenue. Investigators say a group of men dressed in dark clothing reportedly exited a vehicle before more than a dozen shots were fired.
Officers arrived at the scene to find 20-year-old Dearn Marcano dead.

Three other shooting victims were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment. They have not yet been identified, although officials say all three are Plainfield residents. Their current conditions are unclear.
Several parked cars were also struck by the gunfire. They have been removed from the scene for further investigation, officials say.
A reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in connection with the shooting is also being offered by Union County Crime Stoppers.
