Independent Lukoil retailers stage protest over pricing policies

EDISON - More than 50 independent Lukoil dealers across New Jersey and Pennsylvania are raising their prices to $8 or more per gallon in an act of defiance over the company's pricing policies.

New Jersey locations participating in the protest include stations in Brick, Holmdel, Brielle and Monroe.

The company's executive director says the new policies are harmful to small business operators and drivers, and benefit only the corporate level.

Attendants say they'll hand out fliers to let customers know why the prices are so high on this one day.
