Identity of East Orange shooting victim released

EAST ORANGE - The victim of an apparent fatal drive-by shooting in East Orange Wednesday has been identified as Dwayon Sutton, 36.

Sutton was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Newark last night.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray says Sutton was one of four people shot outside 39 Schuyler Terrace Wednesday.

Authorities say the other victims, identified only as two men and one woman, are expected to survive. Police say there is no motive, and the investigation of the incident is ongoing. The drive-by shooting occurred in broad daylight. Neighbors say the incident sounded like machine gunfire followed by the sound of a car speeding away.
