SOUTH BRUNSWICK - An alleged identity theft ring out of New York City could be facing serious charges after being busted by a gas station clerk.

The clerk at a South Brunswick Quik Chek called up a credit card company after the group gave him several declined credit cards. He says the credit card company told him to call the police.

Police say when they arrived on the scene 25-year-old Bobby Rock and his accomplices had about 30 credit cards in their names, but the magnetic strips of victims of identity thefts.

Authorities say the group attempted to buy gift cards at the Quik Chek, which they say is where thieves generally make the majority of their money.

All four suspects are expected in court on Tuesday. Detectives say they are continuing to investigate the incident.
