EDISON - Dropping temperatures in the wake of Sunday’s brush with snow made for a slippery commute across parts of New Jersey.

Most of the state saw a coating to an inch of snow Sunday. Many wet roads turned to ice as overnight temperatures dropped below freezing. Drivers were urged to be alert and to give themselves extra travel time.

Monday saw temperatures top out in only the upper-20s. Wind chills made the temperatures feel even colder.

Many schools across the state were not in session today in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
