JAMESBURG - Several roadways in downtown Jamesburg were badly damaged by the heavy rains from Hurricane Irene.

The pavement along Pergola Avenue, also known as County Route 612, was shredded by the overflowing waters of nearby Lake Manalapan in Thompson Park.

Sidewalks and guard rails were torn out of the roadway by the powerful storm.

News 12 New Jersey's Luke Margolis will have much more on this story later tonight.
