Human remains found in Edison woods

EDISON - Officials are trying to identify human remains found in a wooded area near a shopping center in Edison.

Authorities say a man, whose name is being withheld, discovered the remains on Thursday around 2:15 p.m.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan says the remains were found next to the Oakwood Plaza shopping center on Wood Avenue.

Kaplan says investigators recovered a pair of designer pants and a belt that might help identify the body. He says a pair of dark green or dark blue "Jet Lag" cargo pants with a 33- or 34-inch waist and a brown "Louis Vuitton" belt with a gold buckle were found among the remains.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Edison Police Department at (732)248-7578, or the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office at (732)745-4466.
