HOWELL TOWNSHIP - A dry cleaning company in Howell has some of its customers wondering if they’ve been left out to dry.

News 12 New Jersey received a phone call from a customer of $2.00 Cleaners on Route 9 who said the business had closed its doors and wasn’t returning calls. The customer was trying to pick up clothing that had been dropped off for service and paid for.

Today, News 12’s Sallyann Mosey found a notice on the door of the business that said the company had lost its lease and would be leaving the location tomorrow. The notice did not indicate where the business would move to.

The leasing company told News 12 New Jersey that $2.00 Cleaners was evicted after failing to pay rent for several months.

The owner of the business is reportedly in Florida and did not immediately return our phone calls. In the meantime, it appears that customers are left wondering when they’ll get their clothing.
