Hostage situation ends in Trenton

Authorities have taken a man into custody following a standoff in Trenton. Police say the man took his girlfriend, her child and his own child

TRENTON - Authorities have taken a man into custody following a standoff in Trenton.

Police say the man took his girlfriend, her child and his own child hostage inside of an apartment early this morning.

The woman was able to send a text message to her father about the situation, who then alerted authorities.

State and local police descended on the apartment complex and negotiators were able to talk the man into releasing the woman and her child. The man later released his child and was taken into custody.

Authorities say none of the victims were injured.
