HOPEWELL - If a rooster wants to get a little action in a local henhouse in Hopewell, first, he has to produce a clean bill of health.

That township just adopted a new law that regulates romantic liaisons between chickens in backyard farms.

The so-called "chicken legislation" limits the amount of time male chickens can spend with their female counterparts. It also requires them to prove they're disease-free before they can get up close with the hens.
