PARLIN - The Home Depot Foundation is helping rebuild a home that belongs to a true American hero.

The 85-year-old served in World War II and the Korean War. He and his wife Alice lived in their Parlin home until last year when Tropical Storm Irene swept through the state.

The married couple of 63 years has been living in an apartment at St. Stanislaus Church in Sayreville.

The foundation is helping rebuild the veteran's home. Many of the workers are employees who are volunteering their time.
