TOTOWA - Management at a Totowa cemetery recently placed cards on graves asking families to take down some gravesite decorations.

Holy Sepulchre Cemetery is asking that all statues and borders beyond one foot from the headstone be removed by Oct. 1.

Families are upset at the change because they say it's breaking family traditions.

"It's going to be very depressing because we come here to honor my father," says Louis Amendola. "And it's really going to be depressing for my grandparents. My grandmother is 77. My grandfather is 80. And they're here on a daily basis to visit their son."

Neither cemetery management nor the Paterson Archdiocese returned News 12's requests for comment about the changes.
