NEWARK - The holiday weekend travel rush is in full effect despite heavy wind and rain storms earlier today.

A strong storm moved over the Garden State this morning causing headaches for many holiday travelers.

Newark Liberty International Airport experienced several flight delays earlier. At one point, delays were slowing things down at all three terminals.

Most flights taking off and landing as scheduled, but it is still recommended that travelers check first with their airline before heading to the airport.

For those traveling by rail, NJ Transit and Amtrak are reporting no delays.
