Hoboken will light up with Hudson River fireworks show

Mayor Zimmer suggests arriving early and encourages public transportation.

HOBOKEN - The Fourth of July fireworks will be set off at sundown Thursday from barges in the Hudson River, and Hoboken is one of the best places to see them.

The New Jersey waterfront will be packed with up to 100,000 visitors.

There will be a checkpoint, and no backpacks will be allowed. Alcohol and glass bottles are also prohibited.

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer suggests those attending should arrive early and encourages the use of public transportation.
