Hoboken St. Patty?s parade canceled, Lepre-con is on

HOBOKEN - For the second straight year in a row, the Hoboken St. Patrick’s Day parade will not take place, according to parade organizers.

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer wanted the parade moved to a Wednesday last year after it came under scrutiny for several alcohol-fueled incidents in 2011. Parade organizers say bands and groups would not be able to participate in the parade if it was held on a Wednesday.

Locals have organized a 2nd Annual Lepre-con event to take place on March 2.
