Hoboken police are investigating what they're describing at as a mob attack involving 12 people. They say it occurred just before 11 p.m. Thursday night

HOBOKEN - Hoboken police are investigating what they're describing at as a mob attack involving 12 people. They say it occurred just before 11 p.m. Thursday night at Pier A on Sinatra Drive.

Police reports say the victim, an unidentified Newark man, was walking by the park in a lab coat, which he wore for work. He was with a friend. The coat apparently attracted the attention of two separate groups. After ignoring several remarks, the groups got close and started pushing, shoving and eventually hitting.

Police are still looking for the suspects. Anyone with information on the attack is asked to call the Hoboken Police Department at 201-420-2100.
