TRENTON - Strong winds and rough surf are expected to batter parts of the Garden State as a tropical depression races up the coast from Florida.

A high surf advisory has been issued along the coast until 6 a.m. Friday. A high wind watch has been issued for tomorrow morning in Bergen, Essex and Hudson counties.

A flood watch has been issued for the entire state until Friday.

Heavy rainfall and a storm surge could cause minor coastal flooding. Strong winds could down trees and power lines.
