High winds lift roof of Flanders store

FLANDERS - Mt. Olive police say high winds caused a small section of the roof of the Bed, Bath and Beyond in Flanders to lift up Thursday morning.

According to police, the roof suffered structural damage and a small fire ignited after the partial lift. The fire department was able to quickly extinguish the fire, which was possibly caused by a gas line break due to the roof damage.

The building was evacuated and closed while construction and gas crews worked to repair the roof and gas line.
