EDISON - Gusty winds overnight have knocked out power to thousands of Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L) customers around New Jersey.
JCP&L officials say 3,400 customers, mainly in Sussex and western Morris counties, are without power due to the windy conditions.
The power company expects to have power restored to all of its customers by midnight.
Public Service Electric and Gas (PSEG) is reporting that it has about 600 customers without power scattered throughout its service area.
